My meeting with ‘Grace’

Today was a big day for me. It was my first full, as prescribed, crossfit workout. Like I have mentioned before Crossfit workouts have names and are prescribed a certain way, when you are starting out you scale them down to your abilities, and today I feel like a Crossfitter. I did Grace as prescribed, which is 30 clean and jerks with 135lbs on the bar as quickly as you can. I had a very respectable time of 6:00 and think i can improve upon that. I have attached a video showing an athlete completing it in 89 seconds.

Workout of the Day-1/26/09 ‘Barbara’

Today’s workout is Barbara. It consists of 20 Pull ups, 30 Push Ups, 40 Sit ups, & 50 Squats, the prescribed is 5 rounds but we are not there yet so we did 3 rounds.

A Couple Days off

We had a couple intense work outs Wednesday and Thursday so we decided to take Friday and Saturday off. Mox is still recovering from her cold and I think my muscles will be ready again in the morning to start strong.

With a couple of days off comes reflection on how far we have come. Since we started back at the end of October I’m down 16 lbs and last she checked Jodie is down 15, it may be more by now. We are trying to eat healthier and at home more, which so far has been extremely successful. Our goal is to get back to swimming suit shape by summer and then maintain it till Christmas when we have already started planning a Sanibel and Walt Disney World Trip.

Moxie started her new semester at the little gym on Thursday night and even though she was not herself due to her cold she had fun. With a new semester, the classes thin out a lot but we are told more will join as the semester progresses. Last night Moxie was the only one in class. She has picked up so much with doing forward rolls, high fives, (which I still am not happy about but peer pressure got to me), balance beam, hanging on the uneven bars, and her latest trick is jumping.

I’ll have our Work out of the Day back again tomorrow when we pick up where we left off on Thursday.
