From scratch.

Last weekend the girls and I drove 90 minutes north to the Dane County Farmers Market in Madison. It is the best farmers market I have ever been to. Everything is fresh and plentiful. The downside is, it is also BUSY. We went this same weekend last year which is what they call Maxwell Street days where they have sidewalk sales as well.

We came away with Yellow Tomatoes, Yellow and Green Beans, Sweet Onions, Raspberries, Fresh Bagels, Cheese, Fresh Trout and incredible Bumble berry Pies made by the Amish. They are to die for. They are made with Strawberries, Raspberries, and Blueberries.

After the Market we went up north to visit family where they gave us some fresh Perch that was delicious.
Needless to say we have eaten well this week.

This past Christmas vacation at Disney World I was at my heaviest and most miserable I have ever been in my entire life. I look back at pictures and just cringe. My weight had ballooned to 282 lbs, my blood pressure was borderline hypertensive and my cholesterol was high even though I’m on 20MG of Crestor a day. A change had to be made.
On January 3rd that change started. I started a program called couch to 5K which is a beginners program to get the novice ramped up to run a 5K. I’m no runner, I’m not even sure I have ever completed an entire Mile without walking portions of it.
Along with the couch to 5K program I removed as much sugar as was humanly possible by cutting out all Soda and most carb’s from my diet.
As of today, April 13th, I have run a total of 100 miles and lost 41 lbs. My blood pressure is down as is my cholesterol and I feel better than I have in years. As far as running goes, I’m not running a 5K or 3.1 miles, 3 times a week without stopping. My goal is another 40lbs by September and to run a 5K race here in town.
It’s all for Moxie and Jodie. I want to see Mox grow up and not be that overweight dad who never participates and I want to be the best husband I possibly can.
Jodie found us some Herman shell chairs on craigs list this weekend. They are in pretty good shape, now we have to find a table for them to go with.
