I just returned from two weeks of working in South Florida and aside from my time at a bank in Homestead I spent most of my time in or around Miami Beach.

Turns out no one goes to Miami Beach anymore because it is too busy.

Saturday morning I went down to South Beach to take pictures of the sunrise and the neon.

Last time Jodie and I visited we stayed here at the Pelican. It is a boutique hotel owned by the Diesel Jean company.

The Gianni Versace mansion where he was murdered in 1997. It has been turned into a Hotel.

The Carlysle Hotel where The Birdcage with Robin Williams and Nathan Lane was filmed.

Miami Beach has a bicycle rental program with stations all around town where you can rent bikes from 1 hour to multiple days. Here is one of the rental stations.

I read about Stoneage Antiques which features nautical antiques. There was so much I wanted but everything would take me over the 50lb luggage allowance.

They had this operator board that is identical to the one my grandma used to use at the Courier news paper in Urbana, Illinois, or at least how I remember it when I would sit on her lap when we used to visit her.
I stayed in a Marriott in South Miami and there were Parrots outside my room constantly.
